🔬 In cultured hair-follicle papilla cells adenosine raises growth factors — vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF and fibroblast growth factor FGF-7; in people, thin, shrunken hairs grow thicker
🧬 Evidence: a pilot trial in 30 Japanese women with female-pattern hair loss, 0.75 % adenosine lotion twice a day for 12 months — more growing (anagen) and more thick hairs than on placebo (Oura, J Dermatol 2008); men with androgenetic alopecia, 6 months — a higher share of thick hair and higher density (Iwabuchi, J Dermatol 2016)
