Introduction

Phangan Rivals ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our multiplayer RPG application.

Information We Collect

Authentication Data

• Apple Sign In: Name and email (as provided by Apple, may be hidden via Private Relay)
• Guest Mode: Anonymous Firebase Auth ID only, no personal information required

Game Data

• Character Profile: Username, level, class, stats, and equipment
• Combat Results: PvP and NPC battle outcomes, XP, and currency earned
• Inventory: Items, potions, scrolls, and equipment owned
• Dungeon Progress: Multiplayer dungeon state and co-op history

Communication Data

• Global Chat: Text messages sent in public chat (retained for 30 days)
• Player Presence: Online status and current location within the game

How We Use Your Information

• Game Functionality: Save progress, manage inventory, process combat
• Multiplayer: Enable real-time PvP, dungeon co-op, and chat
• Anti-Cheat: Server-authoritative validation of all game actions
• Offline Sync: Queue NPC combat rewards locally until online

No Analytics or Advertising

Phangan Rivals does not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or any advertising SDKs. Analytics is explicitly disabled in our Firebase configuration. We do not track your behavior, show ads, or sell your data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following Firebase services (Google Cloud):

• Firebase Authentication: Secure sign-in (Apple Sign In, anonymous)
• Cloud Firestore: Player profiles, inventory, and game state
• Realtime Database: Live combat, matchmaking, and presence
• Cloud Functions: Server-side game logic (combat validation, rewards)

All data is transmitted over encrypted TLS connections and stored in Google Cloud (europe-west1 region). Google's privacy policy applies to their infrastructure services.

Local Data Storage

Pending NPC combat rewards are temporarily stored on your device using UserDefaults until they can be synced to the server. This data contains only game reward information (XP, currency, items) and no personal identifiers.

Data Security

All game actions (combat, rewards, inventory) are validated by server-side Cloud Functions. The client cannot directly modify game state. Firebase Security Rules restrict data access to authenticated users viewing their own data only.

Your Privacy Rights

• View Data: Your game profile is visible in the app at all times
• Delete Account: Available in Settings — permanently removes all data
• Guest Upgrade: Link anonymous account to Apple Sign In without data loss
• Data Export: Contact us for a full export of your game data

Data Retention

• Active Accounts: Data retained while account is active
• Deleted Accounts: All data removed within 30 days of deletion request
• Chat Messages: Retained for 30 days, then automatically purged
• Inactive Accounts: May be deleted after 2 years of inactivity

Children's Privacy

Phangan Rivals is designed for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through in-app notifications. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
