Forefeel Support

Forefeel is a free migraine diary for iPhone (iOS 26 or later). You log attacks in a few taps. The app adds local weather and air quality and shows which conditions tended to come with your own attacks.

Please include your iPhone model, your iOS version and the Forefeel version (Settings tab → About → Version), and describe what happened. A screenshot helps. Please send only the health details your question actually needs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I log an attack?

On the Today tab, tap Log an attack. For an earlier attack, tap or log a past attack below it. Set the start time and intensity (1–10). Duration, medication and the factors you noticed are optional. You can also log an attack from the Shortcuts app or by telling Siri "Log an attack in Forefeel".

Why does Forefeel need my location?

Forefeel uses your location to fetch weather and air quality for your area from Open-Meteo. Before sending, it rounds your coordinates to about 1 km, and it sends nothing about your attacks or health. Without location you can still log attacks, but the app cannot compare them with conditions.

To turn location on, go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Forefeel → While Using the App. Then, in Forefeel, go to Settings → Local conditions → Refresh now.

When will I see my pattern?

Your pattern appears once you have logged attacks on 5 days that have local conditions on record. Until then, the Patterns tab shows "Pattern forming". Past attacks you add from up to 92 days back also get their conditions.

What do "Link found", "Weak link", "No link so far" and "Watching" mean?

Forefeel checks each condition separately: pressure drop or rise, fast pressure change within 3 hours, temperature swing, heat, humidity, rain, poor air and short sleep. For each one, it compares how often attacks came on days with that condition and on other days.

The number shown is a relative risk. For example, 2.0 means attacks came twice as often on days with that condition. It is capped at 5.

  • Link found: at least 3 of your attacks came on days with the condition, and attacks were at least 1.8 times as frequent on those days.
  • Weak link: at least 2 attacks on such days, and at least 1.2 times as frequent.
  • No link so far: there is enough data, but the difference is smaller than that.
  • Watching: not enough data yet. A condition is judged only after 5 attack days and at least 5 days with that condition.

This is a personal association over a small number of days. It does not prove cause, and it can change as you add records.

Why didn't I get an evening heads-up?

Check these points:

  1. You have logged attacks on at least 5 days.
  2. Notifications are allowed, and the Evening warning switch in Settings is on.
  3. At least one condition in tomorrow's forecast is marked "Link found" or "Weak link" for you. On other evenings Forefeel stays quiet.
  4. The app last refreshed before your chosen hour. If it refreshed later, the heads-up shows only on the Today screen.
  5. A Focus mode is not silencing Forefeel.

Open the app now and then so it can refresh the forecast. iOS decides when background refresh runs.

How does sleep from Apple Health work?

This is optional. Turn on Settings → Apple Health → Sleep from Health. Forefeel only reads sleep hours, for example those recorded by Apple Watch or a sleep app, to check whether short nights came with your attacks. It never writes to Health, and the app never sends your sleep data anywhere; it appears only as a "Short sleep" line in a report you choose to share.

How do I share my records with my doctor?

Open the Patterns tab and go to For your doctor. Tap Prepare PDF report, or choose or share as plain text, then pick where to send it in the share sheet. The report is created on your iPhone and goes only where you send it.

Where is my data? Can I move it to a new iPhone?

Your data is only on your iPhone. There is no account, no cloud sync and no Forefeel server. If you back up your iPhone (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), your records are included in the backup. Restoring from a backup, or moving to a new iPhone with Quick Start, brings them along.

How do I delete my data?

Go to Settings → Your data → Delete all records. This deletes every attack, heads-up and stored day of conditions, and cancels scheduled notifications. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the phone. The Forefeel Privacy Policy (Settings → About) has the details.

Does Forefeel cost anything?

No. Forefeel is free, with no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads.

What is the geomagnetic activity note?

Some people with migraine feel worse on the day before high geomagnetic activity. When NOAA's forecast shows a planetary K-index (Kp) of 4 or more for a day, Forefeel shows a small note on the Today screen on the day before it. NOAA calls Kp 4 "active" and counts storms from Kp 5; Forefeel uses Kp 4 as its threshold. Once that day is over and NOAA's own figures confirm Kp 4 or more, Forefeel asks whether you felt worse on the day before. Your answers add up on the Patterns tab as your own statistic ("felt worse N of M"). There are no notifications for this. The note is a reminder to observe, not a forecast of an attack.

Is Forefeel medical advice?

No. Forefeel shows a personal pattern based on your own records. It is not a diagnosis or medical advice, and it does not replace a doctor. Discuss your headaches and their treatment with your doctor.

Get urgent help by calling your local emergency number (112 in Ukraine and the EU, 911 in the US) if you have:

  • a sudden, severe, "worst-ever" headache;
  • a headache with weakness, numbness, confusion, or trouble speaking or seeing;
  • a headache with fever and a stiff neck;
  • a headache after a head injury.
